Samsung has just unveiled its upcoming tablet pcs, expanding its line of Galaxy Tab Android-based tablets. Since Samsung's tablet product line already included 3 tablets, nobody was expecting that the company would launch yet another tablet anytime soon. Therefore, the users were pleasantly surprised over the official announcement for the launch of Samsung's latest tablets.

The announcement

The announcement consisted of two parts. The first part mentioned the important features of the upcoming device while the other part mentioned when and where the new Samsung tablet will be launched.

Features

Galaxy Tab 7.0 plus is a mid-range, compact Android-based tablet. The announced features of the upcoming Samsung tablet indicate that this is going to be a truly new and improved version of the original Samsung tablet. Following are some of the features:

• Basic features: It runs on a 1.2 GHz dual-core CPU and Android 3.2 featuring an awesome 7-inch TFT-LCD touch screen, Android 3.2 Honeycomb, 1 GB of RAM, 802.11n wireless support and a 4,000mAh battery. Storage and memory features: On the storage side, the device offers additional options allowing the users to choose from 16GB and 32GB variants. That's not all! The device also includes a microSD slot enabling the users to add up to 32GB of additional storage.
• The Samsung tablet has rear-facing and front-facing cameras: The Samsung tablet features a 3-mega pixel camera with autofocus and an LED flash on the back and a 2-megapixel camera on the front for video chats and video calls.
• Connectivity options: On the connectivity front, the device includes great features supporting Wi-Fi, Bluetooth 3.0 and 3G/HSPA. Hence, the device allows user to connect to HSPA+ networks. All these have been expertly squeezed into a 9.96 mm thin case which makes it look all that much more elegant!
• Applications: It has the ability to download video conferencing apps such as Tango and others.
• Preloaded apps: Samsung Galaxy Tab 7.0 plus includes a number of great preloaded apps such as Google Mobile Services, Smart Remote, Enterprise Solutions, Samsung apps, social Hub, Adobe Flash, Document Editor and many more.

Galaxy Tab 7.0 plus offers a number of great features. However, according to some critics, its specifications seem to be slightly weaker than those of Galaxy Tab 7.7 which was unveiled by Samsung at the IFA trade show in Berlin in August 2011. Besides, the manufacturer has not revealed pricing info of the new tablet.

The second part of the official announcement mentions the when and where Samsung tablet will be launched. According to the announcement, Galaxy Tab 7.0 plus will first hit the stores in Indonesia and Austria by the end of October 2011 and then it will be made available globally in Asia, USA, Europe, Middle East, Africa, Japan and China. In other words, the new Samsung tablet will make its debut in Indonesia and Austria and then gradually roll out to the rest of the world.
